Ordered the Salmon Spaghetti and the restaurant very kindly changed the spicy sauce to cream sauce for me as I’m unable to take spicy.

The pasta was al dente. However, the cream sauce was sweet and light. The salmon was a little dry. Would expect the skin to be crispy and the inside to be cooked to medium.

The bill came to around $20 per pax after the discount for a main and a drink.

Located behind SOTA, GR.iD is a mall that replaced what was previously known as POMO. A few restaurants can be found at the ground floor of the mall and they were all quite lively.

At Isshin Machi, one can find a great variety of Taiwanese dishes, ranging from egg fried rice to their noodles with protein options like chicken cutlets or wantons. I decided to go for one of their vegetarian options, the dry mushroom noodle, and upgraded my noodles for their thicker guan miao noodles. The guan Miao noodles were cooked Al dente, with each strand retaining the perfect bite, and reminded me of dao xiao mian served at Chinese restaurants. The noodles were also coated with a flavorful sauce that most likely had sesame oil added to it. The shimeiji mushrooms were fried well and biting into the mushroom pieces, one could enjoy both the juiciness of fresh mushrooms that went well with the slightly crisped outer surface. Crispy shallots and spring onions were garnishes that helped elevate the flavor profile of this dish. With a braised egg given at the side, this noodle dish is sure to fill your stomach despite being a vegetarian option.

Do try it out if you’re nearby!

We were around Dhoby Ghaut looking for a place to chill when we came across Edith Patisserie Cake Bar. They have quite a variety of cake offerings, and they serve waffles too! Here’s what we ordered:

~Biscoff Chocolate Cake ($8)
~Lychee Rose Cake ($8)
~Mixed Berries Waffles w/ Royal Tea Soft Serve ($13.80)

We felt the desserts were pretty decent - the Biscoff Chocolate Cake had that distinct speculoos flavour, while the Lychee Rose Cake had sweet, floral tasting notes. We both felt that the cakes could’ve been more moist though. The Mixed Berries Waffles that came with the Royal Tea Soft Serve went pretty well together - we liked that the ice cream was fragrant and not too sweet.

Staffs aren’t as friendly when I asked questions... Latte is pretty light tasting. The pastry feels kinda stales which got me thinking if they are baked fresh on a daily basis... the location of the shop in this mall is a little tricky to find too.

Came for a late night dinner and left satisfied and with full bellies. The chicken soup and the tom yum soup base were excellent choices. All ingredients were so fresh and we enjoyed them throughout. We were also treated to the noodle dance, which elevated the entire dining experience. Once again, HDL never fails.

Bring along your friends to share some delicious roasted meats that are really value for money! Everything was so fine but the fatty char siew was the star of the show 🤩 An unexpected surprise was that the soup tasted herbal and extremely flavourful.

The combination of their sweet egg custard & buttery cookie crust is always delightful! 💯 A local favourite, the pandan rendition adds another dimension with its pandan aroma 🌿. Definitely a treat to have one (or two) in hand while watching NDP! 😉

Got the chicken pie, mushroom pie, ispahan eclair, Paris Brest eclair, earl grey latte and hot chocolate with the Burpple offer. The drinks were not great. Early grey latte tasted diluted. The chicken pie and the eclairs were good. Paris Brest tasted like kinder bueno.. preferred the ispahan which tastes like bandung. Mushroom pie was not as hot as the chicken pie so it didn't taste as good. Went on a Saturday close to 12 and we were the only ones there for awhile.

One of the few places that sells the drink I like - Aiyu jelly lemon tea. Worth it with one for one Burpple.
