All About Hojicha

Hojicha Brownie (hmmm under matchalax's bucket list) - got mild roasted tea taste with gooey mixed dark chocolate. but i managed to cut into half with solid hojicha melted off.

Hojicha Lava (hmmm under matchalax's bucket list) - got mild roasted tea taste with gooey mixed white chocolate. but i managed to cut into half with chunks of hojicha lava melted off.

Hojicha Swiss Roll ($7) hmmm its quite nice and interesting fusion for sweet potato and hojicha cream. But I felt that hojicha cream for roasted tea aftertaste was still there but sweet potato taste barely (a bit and not too much). The hojicha cream and sweet potato paste was really smooth in terms of texture and feel.

Hojicha Yuzu Opera Cake ($9) (exclusive cake on father's day) (4/5) I felt that their cake usually up to the standard in terms of the flavours and taste. I felt that the dark chocolate (bitter) and hazelnut (nutty) covered up hojicha (roasted tea) and yuzu (light and sour) flavour and taste. But if you separate the layers for the cake, you should be able to taste it in different flavour individually. for my overall experience, I always like to eat and enjoy dessert but I tried my best not to eat too much stuff as I do it in the past.

Decided to order Hojicha Latte ($6.50) (iced + $1) so I felt that the proportion for milk was a bit too much but I barely taste hojicha 😅 (like light roasted tea) So do stir through the drink if you wanted balanced taste. But the hojicha didn't absorbed well with milk but just sink on the bottom of the drink.

Hojicha Mochi Crossiant ($6.80) I really like this combination for mochi. It's quite soft enough but not that hard 🤌 for mochi. Hojicha was quite strong taste on the top of the crossiant. Crossiant was quite crispy enough after reheating 😅.

Signature Matchaya Parfait ($16.90)

Uji Matcha (tried before and i felt that their colour change a bit lighter compared in the past), Hojicha (roasted tea)(never tried their roasted tea flavour before and strong taste in flavour), Kurogoma (black sesame) (never tried their roasted tea flavour before and light taste in flavour) and Hokkaido Milk (not available as my friend wanted to try it and they decided to switch Sakura (extra change of $1) :") (tried before and i felt that their colour still remained the same compared in the past) my friend they said that matcha & hojicha got a lot of grainy taste and texture but he didn't really like it sadly. He choose Kurogama and Sakura as for his best flavour. For me, I didn't like sakura as it just taste like cough syrup. I choose matcha, hojicha and kurogama as for my best flavour.

Sis @matchafukuro tempted me to go hvala but its really long time never go there 👌🤌 so just go for their ice cream - Hojicha (Vegan) ($5.90) got less milk and not that creamy but less roasted tea taste 🤧

it's quite strong taste for roasted tea (hojicha) and i know that hojicha "waterwall" cake before the tart took over it. i'm felt that its not that bad but not that overwhelming. I'm grateful that I managed to try out their cake even though having GST and also got raining while heading over there. :") (a bit shelter from shophouse only)

So I got impressed by their unique flavour instead of their usual flavour (Matcha / Hojicha) its quite strong ans refreshing yuzu aftertaste for my tastebub.

My sister told me that its quite good as Yuzu Lime compared their usual flavour but it's quite balanced and experimental with adding new flavour.

I just drank tea today so I write food reviews right now. Its tasted quite weird for first try? But it's quite mixed taste for sour and bitter tbh. I didn't pair tea with mooncakes 🥲🥲🥲

I literally lose my bet to my own mum for that I didn't expected that 🥲🥲🥲 I treated her bbt in return 😅🤣😂. So I bought hojicha and genmaicha milk tea ($4.50 ea) without matcha boba pearls 🥲🥲🥲 so I am going to rate hojicha for 3.5/5 because I just don't like taste for hojicha plus I order 50 - 60% sugar 🥲😗 and it's quite sweet for me alr 🤔🙃. I just got sipped through genmaicha milk tea 4.5/5 once but its quite much better than hojicha 😏 but my mum drank finish without giving me for last sip 😒 but its quite ok for me bc I haven't drink melon flavour yet 😎 with matcha boba pearls. Let me know which one u all preferred for hojicha, genmaicha and melon 🤔
