Went for the Australia Wagyu Buffet ($69.80++) for dinner with my partner & it was AMAZING 🤤 drinks are not included so we got the $1 free flow green tea as well (we really liked the tea because tastes like green + rice tea). They have a 90min eating time, which is sufficient if you are not a huge eater. We ate until we were super full and had one cup of complimentary ice cream at the end (can choose from chocolate, vanilla, matcha and mango), which was a lovely icing on top of the cake! 🥩🍨🍵

I loved the variety that we could enjoy at this buffet! There were cooked food like fried chicken wings, tempura, kimbap, japchae, tteokboki, kimchi pancake and ginseng soup! All of them were good except the kimchi pancake and tteok which was hard. The shabu shabu soup was sweet and not too overwhelming, and went well with the vegetables. The bbq meats were also good, especially the marinated chicken and spicy chicken! The pork belly was not bad too when dipped with the garlic chili sauce though the skin was a little chewy. Would return on a weekday lunch for cheaper price for a treat!

Discovered a new food place in Tai Seng!

@charstewkitchensg serves up CHARCOAL BBQ and hot pot stew!

For their hotpot, there is a choice of 4 different type of soups. We tried the peppery chicken and pig stomach soup ($29 for 2-3 pax)! This is the best seller and most recommended item! The soup was soo tasty! Peppery with lots of kicks! Lots of peppercorn spotted in the soup too! What’s better is that the soups are refillable! And the refilled soup does not taste diluted at all! The chicken comes with chicken meat chunks, lots of pig stomach, cabbage, and emoji mushrooms! You can also pick more items to add to your hotpot! They are all at $1 per plate. We got some quail eggs, and more taukey skin and enoki mushrooms to add to the soup!

Their bbq sticks are all at $1(min 15 sticks)! There was a wide selection of skewers available, from taiwan sausage, chicken meat, pork meat, chicken mid wings, king oyster mushroom, sliced potato, shitake mushrooms, lady fingers, corn etc . For these bbq skewers, it is recommended to grill them first before brushing on the teriyaki sauce and the chilli powder (otional). Food cooked by charcoal is so much tastier!

Very shiok meal! And the price is also affordable!

Check them out at 8 Burn Road, Singapore 369977.
Operating hours: Mon-Sun 5-1030pm

New Mookata Spot - @wanwanmookata at Macpherson Area!

I am glad to find another delicious eatery spot in the Macpherson area!

Featured here is the fun size package ($32.80) which is good for 1-2 pax! You get black pepper pork collar, garlic overdosed chicken thigh, tiger prawns, abalone, sausages, crabstick, meatballs, cheese tofu, quail eggs, enoki mushrooms, vegetables, tanghoon, tomyum mama noodles and an egg!

What is also special about this mookata place is that they also serve premium ingredients like the following items! These items can be ordered as ala carte items (min $25 order) or add-on to your bundle meal:
Hokkaido scallops
Jumbo Oysters
Thai sausages
Shishamo

I also super love the thai dipping sauces they gave! Both the red and chilli! Went very well with the grilled meats and seafood!

Our favourite way of eating the mookata is to grill the ingredients; boil the ingredients in the chicken soup; taste enough of the chicken soup; before turning the soup into tom yum noodle soup; and ending off with a wobbly egg!

Check them out at 171 Macpherson Road, Singapore 348536. Their operating hours are 5-11pm daily, as well as 11am-2pm on weekdays.

If you are alone or a little more budget conscious, you can get Wako Niku's signature yakiniku meats for $8 per 100g.

The meats are a mix of karubi and loin "scraps" marinated in one of their three signature sauces - the original, aka (i.e. spicy) or shiro (salt based). I personally prefer their original and shiro sauce but those who like a fiery kick will definitely like their aka sauce!

I have been meaning to try Wano Niku for ages after they were featured on Glib Ojisan's YouTube channel and finally did so for a special occasion with Miss K (yes, in a kopitiam but the food is great so don't judge haha).

Wano Niku is located in a kopitiam in Tanjong Pagar that specialises in yakiniku, and in particular, Japanese wagyu A4 beef and Kumamoto pork at incredibly affordable prices.

You can order the different cuts of beef and pork ala carte but if you are in a group and unsure of what to do, Wano Niku has party platters for less than $50 which are probably just nice for 2 pax.

For $40, you get dice cut steak, karubi, pork belly and pork collar with an assortment of vegetables and some kimchi (as pictured above). I think this is a steal considering the quality of their meats!

This limited-time only sukiyaki incorporates favourite flavours of Singapore to pay tribute to the nation’s 57th birthday.

We had the 250g Assorted Platter of Hida, Miyazaki, and Olive Wagyu Sirloin ($328++ for dine-in, $268+ for takeaway) that is good for 2 pax and each set comes with assorted vegetables and tofu, konnyaku noodles, two bowls of Hokkaido rice, and raw Okinawa egg as a dip. If you are dining in, you will get to enjoy a platter of seasonal starters including the uni yukke cone. What is unique in this sukiyaki is that it uses house-made warishita and infused with fresh peeled tomatoes, with optional add-ons of chilli padi and deep-fried garlic chips on the side if you wish for a touch of spiciness and extra flavour. The meats will be prepared in two styles of sukiyaki, kanto and kansai.

The Southern style Fried Chicken was excellent, with juicy tender succulent chicken meat coated in a crisp crunchy spiced batter.
.
The fried chicken has bold meaty sweet savoury salty spice flavour, nicely addictive.
.
The Sausage Beef & Pork was alright, large and snappy crunchy in texture, though I would have preferred it to be larger, and cooked till slightly more smoky.
.
Still, the sausage beef & pork has good meaty savoury salty spice flavour.
