Braved a 15 minute walk in the recent Singapore heat, from a church we were visiting only because of Burpplebeyond.
Also because I spied Denzy at i12 huggs outlet and thought this homegrown ice cream brand must be doing things right.
Our scoops of pistachio and yoghurt with speculoos (think firmer yole with ur favourite cookie sauce) were indeed promising and the waffles here are airy. They have crisp ends and are easy for 1 pax to finish off, well at least both mum and I had 1 each.
Was mildly peeved after spending 1 hour at the Bedok cafe when I enquired if they had wifi and the staff immediately chirped no; yet I later saw a “free wifi” sticker on the glass door while walking back to my seat. I should have asked “can I have the wifi password?”.
Here is a hawker take on Japanese fusion ramen and BCM. My order of Japanese fusion mee pok in shoyu comes with noodles, pork ball, pork slices, minced pork, abalone slices and cha shu then topped with loads of crispy pork lard.
The cha shu was tender and thickly sliced with a good ratio of fat to meat. The noodles are cooked to a springy texture with a generous amount of ingredients in flavourful shoe and garlic sauce packed with umami goodness. Overall a wholesome and satisfying meal for my hungry belly 》$8/large
Amazing kueh lapis! Love it! And the nitro coffee was so comforting! Atmosphere was soothing and cosy!
Quaint cafe situated in Bedok North served with delicious Nonya food selections. The owner and owner’s cousin are so hospitable - gave us some Pandan lapis to try too. Highly recommend their lapis and ice cream!. They have a wide range of desserts and coffees as well which unfortunately I did not get to try.
Trying the new @mcdsg National Day Laksa Prawn Burger 🍔
There were only subtle hint of Laksa flavour for this one, but I love the combination of the prawn patty and egg, there could be more sauce.
Do add on the sweet and sour chicken cutlet that was super juicy!
Basically an elevated meepok, pretty yummy!
Not cheap for a coffee shop store, but once in awhile I’d probably crave it
OMO ☺️ Perfectly rounded ice cream balls from @denzygelato! 🍦
Always always loved them from their first outlet at Bishan and now they are at Bedok North 🎉 Their crispy yet soft waffles and smooooooooooooth pistachio gelato 🍨
We tried the chicken rendang (pictured), tok kong mee siam (half pictured) and the waffle. Saw the great reviews, decided to try out and was blown away with the great food!! 10/10 highly recommended. Chicken was soft and fragrant, mee siam prawns were thick and juicy. Got the lapis waffle and it comes with 2 scoops of ice cream as well! Overall a great experience.
This rendang was very flavourful and the portion was just nice for one. We ordered the bua keluk spaghetti as well however, we found that it was on a very bland side and we had to ask for salt to enhance the flavour of this dish. Overall it is worthwhile to try with Burpple.
Chef ran out of spaghetti but still managed to create a special dish for me (Bueh Keluak with seafood). Owner Marie and Christopher were chatty and courteous, overall very pleasant experience and we had to get the belachan and kueh lapis for a try! Definitely bringing my family n friends here back for a visit!
