Chai Chee Pork Porridge

Smooth, thick and almost gooey congee with meatball and pork slices, topped with crispy you tiao, spring onions and white pepper. Both the meatball and pork slices are well seasoned and tender with a chewy bite. Not the best but still one of my favourite porridge stalls for a comforting late-night supper 》$4

There are only TWO mains which I eat whenever I am at bedok 85 hawker - bakchormee soup or minced pork ball porridge from this stall (Chai Chee pork porridge #01-23)!

Both are long queue stalls but the porridge queue is shorter! I always get the item that is not stated on the menu - minced pork ball porridge! And add egg! Super comforting!

So glad that Fengshan 85 food centre had reopen after months of renovation closure! It has always been one of our favourite hawker in the East for supper or even breakfast with lots of yummy food stalls! One of our favourite food stall here is 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚. ⠀

Although we aren’t a super big fan of porridge but we certainly approved 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚! Their porridge‘s perfect balance texture is highly known for, smooth yet towards sticky thick, not too watery filled with generous portion of ingredients, slice pork, pork balls in it! These pork balls were heavenly fragrance, it’s the perfect companion for the bowl of porridge with youtiao on the side. Perfect for your morning rise and shine breakfast to warm your tummy or even supper time! A happiness bowl of porridge that’s so comforting and satisfying indeed! ⠀

Fyi, they owns 2 different stalls here, 1 open in the morning serving the breakfast crowd and another opens from evening till late midnight to serve the dinner crowd and night owls. ⠀

This is the Cantonese-style thick congee, made flavourful by the addition of pork slices and porkballs. Mixed together with the egg, it was a very rich bowl of porridge! Would have been tastier and more balanced with some chives.

🌞Comforting bowl of pork porridge (S$3). Smooth and thick type of porridge with pork meatballs and some youtiao. I like that its not salty. Recommend to add an egg for an additional 50cents.
