Maple Pancakes ice cream was great - maple syrup and pancakes is probably one of the best combinations in the culinary world, and for it to come in an ice cream form is a treat you never knew you always wanted. I liked the differing textures, the creamy maple flavoured ice cream with the chewy pancake bits in it. It actually tasted exactly like McDonald’s hotcakes, bringing back a sense of nostalgia from childhood days.
On the other hand, Brie cheese was a little bit of a letdown. The ice cream was honey flavoured, and unfortunately the sweet honey overpowered the entire ice cream, even though there were a few small cubes of cheese inside. Brie cheese is of a milder flavour, so it was difficult to taste much of it at all. I think it would’ve been okay if the ice cream was called “Honey with Brie cheese” instead, just to adjust our expectations - I wouldn’t have a problem with it then.
Overall - both ice cream textures were on point. If I do pass by Haji Lane again, I might stop by to try their other flavours. The total price for both of these flavours was $10, since there was an additional $1 per premium scoop. We didn’t try the Keto options because it would’ve been an additional $2.50 per scoop - not a price we were willing to pay. Or perhaps we are not that health conscious! :P
We visited on a weekday early evening and it was not too busy since it was dinner time. There are a few seats in the shop so I would recommend you to come during off peak periods if you would like to secure a spot.
I promised a better pic than my earlier one and here it is with owner and ice cream maker himself, Elijah, at the background. Really good quality gelatos. Pulut hitam has a rice bite to it so you know it’s genuine.
Ordered Coconut and Horlicks with #BurppleBeyond - 2 cups @ $4.00. We preferred the latter as we found the coconut ice cream too crumbly and milky. Can get a little crowded but a nice place to chill nonetheless!
We were around Dhoby Ghaut looking for a place to chill when we came across Edith Patisserie Cake Bar. They have quite a variety of cake offerings, and they serve waffles too! Here’s what we ordered:
~Biscoff Chocolate Cake ($8)
~Lychee Rose Cake ($8)
~Mixed Berries Waffles w/ Royal Tea Soft Serve ($13.80)
We felt the desserts were pretty decent - the Biscoff Chocolate Cake had that distinct speculoos flavour, while the Lychee Rose Cake had sweet, floral tasting notes. We both felt that the cakes could’ve been more moist though. The Mixed Berries Waffles that came with the Royal Tea Soft Serve went pretty well together - we liked that the ice cream was fragrant and not too sweet.
The scrambled eggs were fluffy and nice. Complements with the sourdough bread well and makes a good combo.
Fried chicken was really nice and not too oily. Quite good portioning for brunch. Waffle is also fluffy. Very pleasant meal
Along the same road, I believe most people would go for the famous gelato shop near the red house.
But if you want to have alternative choice of gelato, I definitely recommend you this hidden shop inside Katong Shopping Centre at the basement.
Very limited seats but they served some good gelato flavours as well.
Here I have their new flavour, smooth and creamy taste of tau huey; the familiar taste in Singapore.
Tasted pretty sweet but not too overwhelming, and it is dairy-free.
Deep within the heartlands of Sengkang (Fernvale), @coldflings is a Gelato & Waffles, Açaí Cafe that can satisfy your dessert cravings at odd hours in the night!😉
What we enjoyed was their Buttery Waffles with 2 scoops of Gelato:
👉Chrysanthemum Cacao Nibs
So refreshing and not too sweet!
👉Chocolate Indulgence
Love that the flavour was robust. In collaboration with Vitaminmall, this contains collagen peptides & probiotics!
If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d highly recommend you to visit this newly opened ice-cream cafe! Dine-in seats within the cafe can be quite limited but there is an outdoor seating area which can probably accommodate about 3-4 groups.👍

no particular wow factor about this place but it was a pretty cosy cafe w not many patrons & they had comfy sofa seats which made it a nice quiet hangout spot. the waffles ($5.20) were fluffy and sweet but not crispy. had a choice of chocolate, maple or caramel for the waffles. the passionfruit sorbet ($4.50) was sour and flavourful but didn't really taste like passionfruit. the cookies & cream ice cream was good. redeemed burpple on the ice cream so our total bill was only $9.70! the staff were really helpful and nice too 😊
This was well-executed - an extremely crisp and crunchy pork chop atop a bed of eggy short-grained fried rice which had a subtle whiff of "wok hei". Served with a side of dry chilli, it was most satiating, even for the hungriest of eaters.

Taste: 3/5
A decent version with enough heat and spice in in the oil, the smooth skinned and plump dumplings are topped with addictively crunchy bits and chopped spring onion for added enjoyment.

I love oyster omelette but I didn't get along with this one - the omelette was thin, had only a few tiny oysters and a thin layer of almost jelly-like potato(or tapioca) starch beneath it which was most off-putting in texture.
